AWFUL
By sherry | on Friday, June 05, 2020
We purchased the MKX select & have had this vehicle for a year and a half. The suv had under 5,000 miles on it when we purchased it. A week or 2 after we bought it, we were driving & I felt the car jerk while driving & the oil light came on. (this was the only time the oil light came on, now it just breaks down with no warning) We pulled over & checked the oil- it was extremely low- hardly any in it. We took it back to the dealer & they did an oil change. Same thing happened a few months later. We have been in & out of the shop non stop with the same issue. It keeps eating up oil, but there is no obvious oil leak. The oil light doesn't even come on, or give us a warning- it just breaks down. We have been in & out of shops since we bought the piece of junk. They couldn't figure out the issue, so the shop was told to rebuild only the top part of the engine. Lincoln said that other cars that are our make/model have had the same issue, so they were rebuilding just the top part because they didn't know what else to do & that is what they were doing in these cases. So , I got my car back a few months (they had it in their shop for over a month) ago & had it back for maybe 2 months & BAM, I get in my car to leave someone's house & it wouldn't start... so I was stranded AGAIN. I had to tow the car to my house... again. We took it back to the shop & they said they didn't know what to do with it since we had had it in there so many times. We even took it back every few hundred miles for the oild consumption test, so we were in & out of shops A LOT. Now we were told by the corporate office to take it to a different lincoln dealer out of our town to see if they can figure it out. I just had a baby so now we have to have our family come watch him & drive an hour away to take it to other dealer. We have to start all over & we're told we need to drive up there every 500 miles. I have been dealing with the corporate office & they are rude & useless. I asked to speak to someone above the lady I'm dealing with & she said there is no one else above her. Our warranty is about to run out & when I asked if they would at least extend the warranty, I was told they can't do that. This has been the most stressful situation I have ever had with a car. I will NEVER, NEVER buy a Lincoln again. We are stuck in a super high car payment with no help. I really wish I could get the CEOs contact info, or someone higher up. This is not right at all. Then when I called to set up the appointment for the dealer out of my town to look at it, he said maybe I should buy another car from them to get out of this one... UNBELIEVABLE. I would give them zero stars if I could… - 5.0
I couldn't be more impressed
By Celtic | on Saturday, November 23, 2019
I spent several months researching every crossover in the new mid-lux segment back in 2017 and found that the Lincoln MKX Reserve had everything I wanted and I could cull out the things I did not want. It is very quiet, has a panoramic glass roof, 300+ HP so it goes when I want it to, real leather seating, pick up / delivery / loaner for service, unique styling, ample cargo room, sport sedan like handling and averages 23 mpg combined on 87 octane gas. To say it checked all the boxes would be an understatement. I couldn't be more impressed.… - 5.0
Great luxury and value
By ReLiNY | on Wednesday, June 14, 2017
I am very pleased with this vehicle overall (2016 MKX Reserve with 3.7L engine), the luxury features are tremendous and a great value. The leather seats are top quality. Sync3 may not be as graphically pretty as the competition, but it works really well. I feel that there are some trim elements (A-pillar snap on trim that detached, for example) that are somewhat flimsy and there is a rattle emanating from the center console (this is why I gave a quality rating of 8). The engine is adequate -- fine on the highway with sufficient passing power, however, it is slow accelerating from stop or low speed -- a V6 should be zippier. Overall, to me, this beats the competition for luxury and value; and I am happy to have the V6 than a turbo-4 for such a heavy vehicle.…
